In August 2021, I attended 21 Project, a two-week young adult summer training camp hosted by Circuit Riders. It was the first time I finally had language for what I’d been feeling about my next steps with Jesus. During those two weeks, I learned about injustice, strongholds, and generational curses—things I hadn’t realized were impacting my life and the lives of so many around me. But I also learned the hope-filled truth, that I had access to complete freedom from all of it through the blood of Jesus.
It was there that God spoke clearly—this was not the end of the road, it was just the beginning. By the end of 21 Project, I had committed to coming back in October for the full 6-month Discipleship Training School (DTS) called the Circuit Riders Experience.
Fresh out of high school, DTS was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I lived in a house in Orange County, California, with 12 other girls (yes, it was as wild and wonderful as it sounds). Every week, our lectures focused on a different theme (Freedom Week, Jesus Week, Bible Week, Voices Week, and more). Each morning, we’d gather for three hours of teaching, hearing from leaders from all over the world who carried a deep love for God and His Word. Twice a week, we attended Greenhouse, Circuit Riders’ house of prayer, and throughout the week I dove into my track: Music & Worship.
Outside the classroom, we were constantly putting the Gospel into action. Every week, we went on outreach to college campuses like UC Irvine, UCLA, and USC, engaging students in conversation about Jesus and praying with them right there on campus. We also served in mercy ministry in Compton, loving on kids and families in some of the toughest parts of the city. These were all unto seeing the Kingdom expand in Southern California as well as train us before we were sent out on Carry The Love tour that January.
During this season, God started to realign my heart and desires with His will. He confronted lies I had believed, revealed areas of unbelief, and gave me fresh vision for my life. I met some of my very best friends in this time and was discipled by some of the most fiery and devoted believers I had ever met. DTS became a launching pad—a time where God’s truth didn’t just fill my head, but began to shape every part of my life.
