eastern europe
In early 2022, I traveled with my DTS outreach team across nine countries in Eastern and Northern Europe—Denmark, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Greece, Norway, and Sweden. For three months, we lived out of suitcases, took buses, trains, and planes, and shared the Gospel in a region often called “post-church.” We hosted Carry the Love gatherings, led worship, partnered with local ministries, and loved on strangers who became friends.
Some of my favorite memories were the most unexpected ones—ice skating in Austria, jumping into a freezing river in Denmark, visiting Ikea in Sweden (because... of course), and standing in Auschwitz 100 years after my great-grandparents fled Poland. Every city was drastically different, yet I was continually surprised at how fast we connected with our hosts and built deep friendships.
In the midst of all the movement, God reminded me how desperately I need to rely on Him daily—otherwise, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle of ministry and forget to sit with Jesus. One of the most special moments for me was translating worship songs like Worthy of It All and I Exalt Thee into local languages so we could sing them in the heart language of each nation.
